Need Help Re-Entering the Workforce?

As a work-at-home mom, I interact with professionals and stay-at-home moms every day. The only difference I see between talent in the office and talent on the playground is a paycheck. But when faced with the need (or desire) to go back to work, many stay-at-home moms lose sight of their worth and confidence in their abilities. It doesn't have to be that way.

Using the process I've developed to help people find fulfilling careers, you too can re-enter the workforce with confidence

Four Things You Need to Get a Job

To get a job in today's economy, you need the following four tools:

  1. 1
    Accomplishments-based resume
  2. 2
    All-Star LinkedIn status
  3. 3
    Networking strategy
  4. 4
Answers to the interview questions you're afraid will be asked

Having helped hundreds of people find meaningful work, I can tell you that there is no magic to the process. You don't need my help. In fact, the tools are listed above, and when you sign up for my newsletter, you'll get access to the resume templates I use with all of my clients.

So why work with me?

As the saying goes, "you can't read the label from inside the bottle." Sometimes you just need someone else to look at your career with a fresh set of eyes.

For reasons I don't yet fully understand, I've been blessed with the ability to do just that. In working with clients, I never tire of the "Aha!" moment we share when the puzzle pieces start to fit, the career trajectory starts to materialize, and hope for a dream job or calling is restored. It's both liberating and empowering.

Work with me and see for yourself.

More About the Tools

Whether you work with me or do this for yourself, the four tools you need to rethink your career and find your calling are as follows:

1. Accomplishments-Based Resume

My resume template teaches you SEO tricks to help your resume get picked from job search engines while also showcasing your skills and abilities.

2. All-Star LinkedIn Profile

Gone are the days of just sending your resume out. Before applying for jobs, you should spend time updating your LinkedIn profile and getting it to All-Star status.

3. Networking Strategy

The best jobs often come through referrals. With your resume and LinkedIn profile ready, you need to reach out to people and track your progress. Treat "getting a job" like a job.

4. Answers to Interview Questions

Write down the questions you're most afraid will be asked and start crafting your answers. Seek advice from a trusted mentor.  I promise there is no backstory that can't be managed.

What Former Clients are Saying

Mike Habecker

Manager

Restored my self-confidence

"I had been in my job for over 17 years when I realized I had to make a job change. I was lost; I didn’t know where to start. Shelley got me on track. She played both the role of psychologist and career counselor. I ended up with a great resume that helped me approach future employers with confidence in myself and a newfound belief in my marketability. I ended up with a GREAT, NEW JOB! Thank you Shelley for believing in me, talking me off several ledges, and leading me to this career path."

Amanda Sainsbury

Office Manager

Valuing my "at home" experience

" Thank you for helping me recognize that even though I put my career on hold for 20 years to spend more time with my children, I still developed skills, and obtained valuable experience that helped me to easily qualify me for a job in my desired field.”

David Shelton

Business Development Rep

Found my dream job!

"You really helped me to clarify the professional messaging on my resume, which helped me to be able to change industries and land my dream job. I consider myself a good writer, but I was blind to how the message on my resume did NOT tell a clear and compelling story. I cannot thank you enough, and would recommend anyone that is considering a career move- to seek you out!"

What Would You Normally Pay?

I recently helped a woman create a resume and brainstorm career opportunities. Her attorney had referred her to a service that wanted $900 to create a resume, $600 to update her LinkedIn profile and a commitment of $600 per month for 3 months to find opportunities and offer interview coaching.

That's $3,300!

Have you heard the quote, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime?"

If you allow me to be your coach, I will teach you how to fish.

I could do the work for you, but that will only help you find your next job. Instead, I will empower you to take charge of your career--maybe even find your calling in life. If you learn how to update your resume repeatedly, polish your LinkedIn profile, answer tough questions, and network, you'll be able to repeat the process as needed..

Yes, you might need coaching and someone to hold you accountable, but this is a process you can and should learn for yourself. I would be honored to be your guide.

Is a Faith-Based Approach Right for You?

The tools I use are applicable to any job search for any person. I regularly work with people who do not share my faith. But I do believe that the Lord has a plan for each one of us. If you're headed in the right direction, you'll get the guidance you need from Him. Mix my tips with divine inspiration and you will absolutely get where you need to go.

WARNING:  If you don't want to hear career advice mixed with spiritual thoughts and inspiration, I'm probably not the coach for you.

Why I Am Doing This

For decades, I have helped people update their resumes and up-level their careers. Until I created this website, I did it for free, helping one person at a time as an act of service. Though it takes work on my part, I find the process incredibly rewarding. People come to my house discouraged and downtrodden. Then we talk, I ask questions, and together we find that the puzzle pieces of their past already fit together. Seeing the pattern builds confidence and self-esteem.

I never tire of being part of that metamorphosis, but I needed a way to help more than one person at a time. So while I can't sit down on the couch with each of you, I look forward to helping you develop the tools you need to create a change for yourself. And ultimately that will be a more empowering experience anyway.
